Italy's top three wine making regions produce high-quality Italian wines.
The Veneto, a highly productive wine region in northeastern Italy is well known around the world for producing Prosecco, Italy's popular sparkling wine.
Tuscany, located in central Italy is home to some of the world's most notable wine regions. Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are primarily made with Sangiovese grape whereas the Vernaccia grape is the basis of the white Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
Piedmont introduces us to a different set of wine grapes to taste and understand – from Nebbiolo to Cortese. Piedmont (Piemonte) is a top wine region in Italy and makes up 5% of Italy's national production. Most of the region's wine comes from small vineyards in which the growers also make the wine. Barolo is one of the region's most revered wine making areas.
Keith Bader, our resident wine expert at Nejaime's will be our speaker for the evening.
With over 45 years in the wine industry, Keith has wealth of knowledge and has visited many wine regions around the world. He will take us on a journey through Italy's rich wine heritage, from the sun-kissed vineyards to its varied terroir.
