The organic domaine of Elian da Ros is situated in the Cotes du Marmandais just to the east of Bordeaux. Elian worked with Olivier Humbrecht in the Alsace and also at Grange des Peres in the Languedoc so he has an impeccable vinous pedigree. This wine is a a blend of 60% Merlot plus equal quantities of Arbouriou and Cabernet Franc, all grown on limestone and clay soil. The resulting wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. This is a characterful red - a party in your mouth! A bright ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, scents of sweet cherries, cassis and toasted oak. On the palate, ripe and plummy with plenty of juicy acidity. Notes of spicy red fruits leading to a lingering finish. Superb with roast duck and truffled juice, baked ham and roasted beef dishes!
