Montepulciano grapes make very good, easy-drinking wines. So delicious you'll want this to be your new, everyday 'house' red! Originally named after the region of Abruzzo located in the central west part of Italy looking over the Adriatic sea, the grape is now widely planted throughout central and southern Italy, most notably in Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche, Molise, Umbria and Apulia, and is a permitted variety in DOC wines. Montepulciano is Italy's second most widely dispersed indigenous grape variety. This Spasso Montepulicano d'Abruzzo has a deep plum color, with intense aromas of spice and cherries. It has a luscious, fruity, medium-bodied palate and smooth tannins.Serve with pasta, pizza, red meat, game or artisan cheeses.
So good!
